Do You Have a One Word or a Theme for the Upcoming Year?

Hello all! I hope you all are finding your New Year kicking off right. I am cozied up at the moment. We are still on winter break here from our homeschool.  I am enjoying it. We will start our homeschool back January 8th.

For years I always shared my One Word that I would focus on for the upcoming year and then I try to post and update through the year about it. 2017's Word was PRAY. I shared a post back in the Fall on my reflections of that Word for the year. Last year really took me to deeper levels in my prayer life. I learned a lot.

I have had a harder time this year coming up with a Word or a direction of thoughts in regards to this year. I just can't seem to put my finger on it. I have had some thoughts for a while but I still don't feel a complete direction.

Why is it important for me to have this little word or a theme?   I use this as a jump start to base my reading, studying, and growth for the year and it always seems the Word or Theme is exactly what I need and it carries me through the year. ALWAYS seems to be what that year holds for me, ALWAYS.

What about you?  Do you have a word or a theme?

Share your thoughts!

Blessings,
Chrissy

  3. How about NO! NO to sugar and treats, No to sitting on the couch watching late night TV instead of do my deep breathing exercises and sweating. OR No to buying things I don't need. Or No to overworking. I am thinking about this one. Happy New Year my beautiful friend

  4. I think Wendi put it nicely on her blog when she chose Peace. That is what I want and am striving for. This past year I learned to set healthy boundaries and realized and accepted my limitations due to my health. I don't want to waste precious time and energy worrying about situations that I have no control over. Be blessed!

  5. Chrissy, I like to choose a word too and the one that is weighing on my heart is the word REST. Especially as it pertains to resting in the Lord. Happy New Year!

  6. I haven't had time to think or pray on a word yet, because of super busy December. I hope to give it some thought this week. Hugs!

  7. Hi Chrissy!
I usually don't have a word or theme for the year, but I always have goals.
This year, our goal around here is to loose some much needed weight and start living and eating healthy.
Because our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, we don't want to let it get sick or ruined, because of bad habits. So, my husband and I, are trying hard to meet this goal.
Well, I guess I've found my word for this year: HEALTHY.
Hope you and your family, have a blessed 2018!
    :)
