Ladies Breakfast and Making Jam

Today our church hosted a breakfast for the Ladies. It was a sweet and lovely time. The theme was Rainbow Promises. Based on Noah. Noah went through quiet a lot and was given a promise by the beauty of a rainbow. God has His hand in our lives and our promises He has shared with us are not forgotten. We may have to go through some storms and floods but there is a always a promise of hope. We got to paint little rainbox boxes we could put written promises inside to take home. It was so nice.

After this I headed home to make Plum Jam. I was given a bag of plums from a friend. There were so many I knew they would waste. So, I watched a couple of video how to's and researched and did it. My oh my....it tastes amazing.

Water Bath Canning is a skill I am learning this summer. I got a canner for my birthday coming up. I am excited.

Do you can or put up fresh foods?

Blessings and Happy Weekend!!

    I know nothing about canning.

  2. Plum jam is my absolute favorite! And I don't think you can buy it, at least not normal brands. So worth making! I have canned a few times. I don't really love it, but I think jam is my favorite thing to can. It's the easiest. :)

    1. It is was pretty easy. If I would have had proper equipment it would been easier. It really turned out good. If you lived close I would for sure share. 😁

  3. A great skill to learn! I love hearing the "ping" when the jars seal, seeing them lined up on my shelf, and best of all knowing what I am feeding my family. Have fun exploring the fun creating home-canned goods!
