REST~Nourish, Refresh, and Inspire

Rest can come in all forms. Rest should restore, inspire, and refresh. I was given a challenge by another Blogger, The Daily Connoisseur to rest 5 minutes a day but choosing to do something nourishing besides scrolling FB, or any other social media platform. So, I had this book that was a gift to me by our realtor when we bought our home. Interior Design with God in the Midst of it. It is a beautiful book full of great beauty making ideas and also ideas on how to make your home a haven.

So, I turned on a piece by Chopin (yes...a classical piece was another challenge from her) and made some coffee and read. This was so refreshing. I didn't feel envy, discontent, comparison, no drama issues. I am so glad I cut off the social media and besides using my "rest' time to scroll I filled my heart and mind with a nourishing book and music.

If you come across this book it is a must to have in your library. It is such a neat read and elegant book.

What do you do to Rest?  I also take NAPS!!! *smiles*

Blessings,
Chrissy T

  1. Good morning, Chrissy, so nice to meet you, and thank you for visiting my blog and for your sweet comment. I look forward to getting to know you.
I love to read especially christian books on homemaking that tie in with my walk with the Lord, this looks like a great book, thank you for sharing. Reading, is one of the things I do to rest, and of course an afternoon nap is great too! ~wink~
I have been reading some of your other posts, and am enjoying them so much, I am now adding you to my reading list.
I have so much respect and admiration for parents who homeschool their children, it is one of the most rewarding investments they will ever make.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  3. Your book looks delightful..There's nothing better thana a good read and a cup a tea to relax your day.... in the morning I try to glean a few pages of something light like" Imaginative Characters" it's an art book and at night I tend to cuddle down in a philosophical read... currently, "The Spiritual Brain" ... I'm new to your posts so will try to catch up a.s.a.p....My children are all grown up , but I did have many friends who self schooled their children... It is surely alot of dedication and focussed time well spent.
Classical music is my forte, so it's always on audio at our house ... especially the romantic composer.
It sounds like you are well on your way to a peaceful and Happy life.... Enjoy your week-end...Hugs

  4. I like to tuck away from everyone & pull out a book I'm reading & enjoy.... or I like to do something artsy - work in my Journaling Bible or work on some sort of painting.

  5. My favorite rest spot is on the back porch. As the weather permits I will slip out for some down time with a cup of tea.

  6. I love this idea: a few solitary minutes to recharge. Life can be busy and overwhelming!

  7. I am a great napper! I also think face book is a place where people brag about what they have and do. Every expensive vacation and picture of their perfect home ends up there. It is an unrealistic view of their world. The devil can use a great thing to do very bad things. It is not that I don't use it ,but I don't let it take me down.
